Our story
Founded by top ex-MOELC alumni.
Nami Japanese Academy — an online Japanese language education platform — was established by top ex-MOELC alumni with an expertise in curriculum planning. Nicholas’s love of Japanese began early: growing up in a neighbourhood with many Japanese friends inspired him to learn the language. He went on to study Japanese for four years at the Ministry of Education Language Centre, topping his cohort in the Japanese Language examinations in his final year, and was selected for numerous immersion programmes — including a visit to a high school in Takayama, Japan — where he developed deep insights into speaking natural Japanese.
Having brought hundreds of students of diverse backgrounds to fluency, we are confident in meeting your learning needs — whether they serve your career, your education or your personal goals.

Real classes with real teachers, streamed to your screen — with Google Classroom and Quizlet so you can submit worksheets for review, just as in a physical classroom.

Resources we follow at Nami Japanese Academy.
Japan Foundation
We follow teaching methods recommended by the Japan Foundation and synthesise their resources with our lessons, such as “Erin's Challenge!”.
Bunka Institute of Language
We use teaching materials from the Bunka Institute of Language, such as the textbook they have published, 文化初級日本語.
3A Network
We follow some textbooks from 3A Corporation such as 新完全マスター (Shinkanzen Master), on top of other textbooks to supplement your learning.
JLPT
Our syllabus follows that of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, so students can get qualified in Japanese upon completion of our courses.
